Roseville Weekend

Your July 4 game plan

Friday, July 3, 2026

Hi neighbors,

Roseville has the whole Fourth mapped out this year: a morning run, the downtown parade, Royer Park, and fireworks at @the Grounds. I added two quieter alternatives if a full day of red, white, and blue is more commitment than you had in mind.

Pick your anchor, check the parking notes, and do not try to win the entire holiday.

This Weekend

Auburn Music on the Square

Friday, July 3, 6:00-8:00 PM - Downtown Auburn Central Square

The best verified Friday option is a short drive up I-80: free live music, tables around the square, and downtown food and dessert within wandering distance. It is an easy start to a weekend that gets much busier on Saturday.

Run Crime Out of Roseville 5K

Saturday, July 4, 7:15 AM - Vernon Street Town Square

This is the early-bird way into the holiday. The city says the annual 5K supports specialized law-enforcement equipment, youth scholarships, and education about crimes affecting the community.

Fountains Morning Movement

Saturday, July 4, 9:00-10:00 AM - Fountains at Roseville Courtyard

If a parade crowd is not your speed, the Fountains has a free, all-levels yoga session near Pet Food Express. Bring a mat, water bottle, and face towel for a slower start to the Fourth.

Roseville Parade and Royer Park Celebration

Saturday, July 4, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM - Downtown Roseville and Royer Park

The parade starts at Vernon, Riverside, and Douglas, runs past the Civic Center, and finishes near Royer Park. The park celebration begins at 10:00 AM with live music, games, activities, vendors, and food for purchase. Arrive early for a decent parade spot.

Fireworks @the Grounds

Saturday, July 4, gates at 4:00 PM; fireworks about 9:15-9:30 PM - 700 Event Center Drive

Admission is free and grandstand seating is first come, first served. Parking is $15, activities and concessions are available, and the city allows sealed water but no outside food or coolers. Bring a blanket or chairs if you are not counting on grandstand seats.

World's Worst Expo

Sunday, July 5 - Vernon Street, Downtown Roseville

Despite the name, this free downtown market is a useful Sunday reset. Downtown Roseville says more than 150 vendors bring vintage clothing, jewelry, handmade goods, art, food, music, and plenty of odd finds.

Local Notes

Friday is a city holiday, but your trash day stays put. Most city offices and public counters are closed July 3, while refuse service follows its regular schedule. The Downtown Library is open noon-8:00 PM on both July 3 and July 4.

Saturday transit service is limited. Roseville Transit has no commuter, local, or ADA Paratransit service July 4. Arrow runs from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, so parade and fireworks transportation needs a little advance planning.

Roseville added a no-questions-asked illegal fireworks surrender option. Residents can hand illegal fireworks directly to a firefighter at a city fire station. Do not leave them outside, and do not transport damaged or unstable fireworks; call Public Safety Dispatch instead.

Smoke near Colfax may be planned, not a new wildfire. Placer County says a prescribed burn around Burnt Flat could make smoke visible through July 5, weather permitting. That is separate from the countywide suspension of residential landscape-debris burn permits.

Small Business Spotlight

Just Gluten Free Kitchens

This woman-owned Roseville startup is solving a problem most diners never see: a recipe can contain no gluten and still be unsafe for someone with celiac disease if it is made around flour dust, shared tools, or shared equipment.

Steph and Todd say the idea started after their daughter had to pass on macarons labeled gluten-free because they were made in a shared kitchen. Their answer is a dedicated gluten-free bakery and commissary at 605 Douglas Boulevard, built to give bakers, caterers, chefs, and food entrepreneurs a safer place to produce.

Neighbor Tip

Downtown streets start closing at 5:00 AM Saturday for the run and parade. If you are only coming for Royer Park, approach with the closures in mind instead of trusting your usual Vernon Street route. For fireworks, remember the grandstand is first come, first served and the city's event page is the last check before you leave.
